Search Engine Marketing
Search engine marketing is simply the process of getting your blog and its content a sufficiently high ranking in several search engines for your target keywords. In turn this will enable your content to generate more visitors to your site from Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs). Attention grabbing content titles and sites will help users to feel compelled to click on your link within the search engine results pages.
Additionally, search engine marketing needs a website that is optimised for search engines. Normally, this is a website that can display a configuration setting that makes it look interesting to search engine spiders. In turn, the spiders will visit the site and look at your content. After doing this, the spiders then pick up significant keywords, which determine the characteristic of your page. Lastly, the content returns to the search engines for the purpose of being indexed.
Enhancing Search Engine Marketing
Blogs have outpaced several media outlets online due to their capability to deliver and publish fresh information to the public faster.
Since search engines looks for the freshest, high value and relevant information, it is important that you to publish frequently. This should result in your blog getting more visits from search engines.
Blogs have a natural relationship with search engines. Since blogs are natural search engine magnets, the search engine spiders will visit your blog often if they detect an update from it. In addition, the content of your blog does not have to wait for months before getting into search engine result pages but instead, your content will be displayed in a matter of hours or days.
Reasons Why Blogs Rank Well in Search Results
Firstly, blogs are designed to meet the demands for search traffic and search engines. Blogs are highly significant in their niches and are considered as the best sources of the most up-to-date information online. More so, blogs can be keyword optimised. Keyword optimisation helps blogs achieve high rankings in search engine results. Additionally, wisely distributing the keywords evenly on the content can also help your blog rank easily on search engine result pages.
Compared to traditional websites, blogs are also text rich publishing tools. This means that the code used by blogs is lightweight making your content highly visible to search engines. Search engine spiders can visit your blog frequently and crawl over your content faster because of greater clarity. This clarity provides a vivid interpretation of what the content of your blog is all about.
So, What Is Search Engine Optimization?
Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is a process of choosing the most appropriate targeted keyword phrases related to your topic and ensuring that this ranks your site highly in search engines so that when someone searches for specific phrases it returns your site as high up the results page as possible.
It basically involves fine-tuning the content of your site along with the HTML and Meta tags and also involves an appropriate link building process.
The most popular search engines are Google, Yahoo, Bing (MSN Search), AOL and Ask Jeeves.
Search engines keep their methods and ranking algorithms secret, to get credit for finding the most valuable search results and to deter spam pages from clogging those results.
A search engine may use hundreds of factors while ranking the listings where the factors themselves and the weight each carries may change continually. Algorithms can differ so widely that a web page that ranks #1 in a particular search engine could rank #200 in another search engine.
New sites need not be “submitted” to search engines to be listed. A simple link from a well-established site will get the search engines to visit the new site and begin to spider its contents. It can take a few days to even weeks from the referring of a link from such an established site for all the main search engine spiders to commence visiting and indexing the new site.
The Importance of SEO In Blog Advertising
Having a blog on the Internet that provides people with valuable information doesn’t mean a thing if people don’t know that it’s there.
If you want people to be able to find your blog, it is extremely important to have good Search Engine Optimisation (SEO).
Whenever you put one or more words into a search engine to look for something, the SEO of a website is what determines where it appears in the search engine results.
Think about the things that people will search for when they are interested in your niche, and the kinds of things that come up when you search.
Of course, there are other factors that come into play that determine where your blog will appear in the list, but having keyword rich content is a great place to start.
The more keywords that your blog uses, the more people will come to your blog. It just takes time and patience.
Why Internet Marketing Does Not Work Without SEO
Search engine optimisation (SEO) should be considered a critical element of any Internet marketing strategy. This is important because there is so much that can be gained from SEO in terms of Internet marketing and advertising.
Failure to optimise your website for search engines can result in a considerable loss in terms of free advertising which is essentially gained from ranking well with search engines.
Internet users trust search engines to serve the most relevant content first and are therefore most likely to only visit websites that fall on the first or second page of search results.
This means that websites which rank well are essentially receiving a great deal of free advertising from search engines that place their website in a key position.
Website owners who do not invest time into optimising their websites will miss out on a great deal of potential web traffic.
Now go and spend some time optimising your site!

Hi Pete, that has got to be the most informative short version explanation of SEO that I’ve ever read.
Seo in itself is confusing to say the least. But when someone like you breaks it down like you did, it’s much easier to absorb. Which builds to a better understanding of how and why SEO building is and should remain important to any blog or website owner.
Nice post.
